About Sanabel Nour

Sanabel Nour is a humanitarian, nonprofit, and apolitical NGO that started its interventions in 1995 in North Lebanon. Its main objective is to protect orphan kids in their homes and help them by securing financial guarantees to remain with their families without the need to seek orphanages. As a result of the increased and diversified needs, Sanabel Nour is working on developing its community support in different ways and through various sectors such as: providing in-kind and financial support for people in need, providing health services, reducing school dropouts and child labor through establishing educational centers and providing scholarship for eligible students. In addition, Sanabel Nour is working towards economic empowerment of women and youth through the implementation vocational training (TVET) and supporting small businesses (SMEs).

Introduction and Scope

Under anticipated phase 2 of project « CAP Tripoli – Empowering Sanabel Nour », funded by CDCS (Centre de Crise et de Soutien du Ministère de l’Europe et des Affaires Etrangères), Sanabel Nour, with the support of Bioforce, is committed to strengthening its capacities and its credibility towards international actors in Lebanon. Following an organizational self-assessment and action planning, Sanabel Nour Organization is seeking highly skilled and compassionate Social Workers to join its dedicated team. As a Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable communities, conducting field visits, and providing assistance to those in need. This position will be funded by CDCS (Centre de Crise et de Soutien du Ministère de l’Europe et des Affaires Etrangères), upon approval, with the support of Bioforce, under anticipated phase 2 of “CAP Tripoli- Empowering Sanabel Nour” project that will end in July 2024. The renewal of the contract depends on the availability of fund and Sanabel Nour organizational decision.

Position:

Social Worker

Main Purpose:

The main purpose of this role is to provide compassionate social work support, including conducting field visits, interviews, and case documentation, while fulfilling other duties as requested by the team lead.

Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities

The job holder’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Conduct field visits to assess the needs of vulnerable communities and provide support accordingly.
  • Conduct interviews with beneficiaries, ensuring a respectful and empathetic approach.
  • Pay attention to detail while respecting the rights and privacy of beneficiaries in accordance with Sanabel Nour policies.
  • Utilize your expertise to report and document cases accurately and effectively.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve the lives of beneficiaries.
  • Maintain professionalism and ethical conduct when interacting with beneficiaries.
  • Fulfill other duties as requested by the team lead.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic and English is essential.
  • Excellent computer skills and comfort working with various systems.
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities and conducting field visits.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience with a humanitarian organization or equivalent.
  • Strong interviewing skills, with the ability to listen empathetically and collect essential information.
  • Attention to detail and ability to observe and document critical information.
  • Respect for the rights and privacy of beneficiaries, adhering to Sanabel Nour's policies.
  • Previous experience reporting and documenting cases accurately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Salary is 450$.
