This project aims to raise awareness of the importance of freedom of expression and its role in building vibrant, democratic societies. The campaign targets two categories: active citizens and politicians.

 

Objective

To produce five innovative, 90-second videos addressing the importance of freedom of expression and freedom of the press in the context of the ongoing uprising that has begun on October 17, 2019. 

The aim from the videos is to achieve two specific objectives:

• To denounce violations against journalists, activists, and artists; and

• To define clear action points for activists and politicians in order to promote and protect freedom.

 

The videos should include, among others, testimonials from active journalists, artists, and activists, animations, and compelling footage.

 

Tasks: 

Under the direct supervision of Samir Kassir Foundation's Communication Officer, the contractor will be required to:

  • Provide/prepare the production of the five videos;
  • Coordinate the interviews;
  • Arrange logistics (transport, equipment, communication services);
  • Deliver first edit versions for comments;
  • Incorporate Samir Kassir Foundation's remarks;
  • Produce a high-quality version of the video with adequate background music in the most appropriate format for each dissemination platform; and
  • Provide English subtitles.

 

Please note the Samir Kassir Foundation will provide the script.

 

Qualifications

The contractor will be required to meet the following requirements:

  • More than five years of working experience in the development of film production, especially video campaigns;
  • Experience in mass communication will be an added advantage;
  • Experience in working with local NGOs or other international organizations on human rights topics and freedom of speech.
