Detailed Responsibilities & Tasks

Responsibility #1: Human Resources systems

  • Assist in Developing, Reviewing and updating human resource policies and procedures (compliant with SAFADI systems) and ensure they are effective, efficient, fair and transparent, and promote equal opportunities.
  • Develop, Review and or Update human resource policies and procedures for recruitment and management of national staff.
  • Ensure a complete orientation package is in place and that all staff are oriented on time.

Responsibility #2: Recruitment and staffing

  • Assess staffing needs as required. Identify and recruit new and replacement staff including scheduling of contract extensions, new contracts, and necessary terminations.
  • Assist in the preparation of standard job descriptions, terms of reference per function and ensure submission of personnel requisitions in coordination with Line Managers/Supervisors.
  • Prepare regular recruitment tracking reports
  • Ensure pertinent organigrams, contact lists, and information flow lines are constantly updated and widely shared.

Responsibility #3: Administration

  • Establish and maintain personnel files.
  • Ensure all data forms are filled and safely filled

Responsibility #4: Staff development, well-being, etc.

  • Assess training and development needs of staff and provide appropriate induction and orientation, training, supervision and support as required. Ensure all staff, always have adequate access to HR/Administrative policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper & mandatory implementation for the performance review process with all relevant staff respecting specific timelines
  • Monitor and uphold staff conduct and discipline and organize the regular performance evaluations of all staff. Ensure that exit interviews/ debriefs are prepared at the end of service.
  • Ensure staff have time to relax, and have fun to manage their stress in a safe and comfortable environment
  • Liaise with General manager to ensure services in support of wellbeing are made available.
  • Coordination of performance and talent management
  • Ensure proper implementation of the feedback mechanism for SAFAID Foundation staff

Working Conditions:

Based in Tripoli, Lebanon with willingness to travel when necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management/ Organizational Behaviour/ or related field and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.
  • Five to Ten years proven experience in a HR position, including high performance in the full range of human resource management activities (recruitment and selection, performance management, development, talent management, reward, employee relations etc.)
  • Substantial knowledge of Human Resource administrative procedures and systems either through experience gained from human resources working experiences or from a similar NGO
  • Substantial knowledge of Lebanese employment law
  • Ability to influence and persuade decisions at senior management level

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge and understanding of HR issues related to GED (Gender, Equality and Diversity)
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HR policies and procedures, and HR best practices
  • Capability to relate and work effectively across regional cultures
  • A strong leader with ability to motivate and inspire team to achieve superior standard in all aspects of human resource management.
  • Ability to position HRs strategically
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and networks quickly at every level within the Country Office
