About Rural Entrepreneurs:
Rural Entrepreneurs (RE) was founded in early 2015 with an aim to empower youth and enhance their access to opportunities, RE has become one of the most impactful and reliable youth NGOs in Lebanon. Officially registered in Beirut as a non-profit organization in the mid of 2017.
RE has established dynamic and long-term partnerships with esteemed entities such as UN agencies, international donors, major local organizations and stakeholders, and educational institutions. These collaborations have fueled rapid growth, allowing the organization to diversify its programs and services quickly, extend its reach to multiple rural areas, and establish sustainable innovation hubs and community centers.
Responsibilities:
- Process and record all payments in the general ledger system and ensure that transactions are complete and accurate.
- Coordinate with the project manager to prepare the weekly payments.
- Ensure there is proper supporting documentation for all payments and other accounting entries, including salaries and consultation (invoice, receipt, Timesheets etc.)
- File financial data & documents in an organized and orderly way as hard copies, committing to grants’ requirements and RE’s policies.
- Ensure that all invoices are in accordance with established financial policies.
- Prepare monthly payroll, Income Tax and NSSF reporting.
- Track and records all advances paid to staff and suppliers.
- Keep track of all pending payments and follow-up to close it.
- Develop the NGO’s annual report in collaboration with the Auditor
- Develop the NGO’s annual financial statement and the NGO’s annual balance to submit to the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Finance.
- Complete and submit monthly bank reconciliations of all accounts.
- Attend relevant meetings and workshops with donors and partners when necessary.
- Maintain a backup of the data from the accounting system
Requirements:
- A bachelor degree or equivalent years of experience in fields of Accounting, Finance, economics, and/or other relevant fields.
- Strong experience in Accounting and Finance operations.
- Excellent reporting, communication, interpersonal skills and pro-active negotiation skills.
- A high degree of personal initiative with the desire and ability to meet aggressive programmatic goals.
- Superior organizational and time management skills. Able to multi-task and work through stringent deadlines while maintaining focus on priorities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with thorough knowledge of Arabic and English
- Availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally
