The National Program On The Prevention Against Torture In Lebanon
The National Program on the prevention against torture in Lebanon is an integrated part of the three-years rehabilitation project for the victims of torture and violence, that is supported by the European Commission.
Overall Objectives:
The present project aims at improving the psychological, health and social status of torture victims, preventing torture cases in Lebanon, and consequently eliminating this kind of abuse.
Activities:
It is a training program that aims at:
1- Building the capacity of health and social workers, lawyers and Human Rights activists on how to prevent torture.
2- Improving the rehabilitation services through the development and implementation of therapeutic techniques.
3- Raising awareness on the content of Istanbul Protocol.
4- Providing participants with strategies, techniques and tools to follow-up and evaluate the rehabilitation activities that meet the torture victims needs.
5- Providing participants with practices on how to deal with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
