DESCRIPTION:
The Part-Time Coalition Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing non-discriminatory rights in Lebanon by supporting coalition-building efforts and advocacy initiatives. This position, while part-time, is dedicated to promoting equality, justice, and the abolition of discriminatory laws for vulnerable individuals, with a primary focus on abolishing different penal codes, advocating for legal protections and anti-discrimination laws, ensuring healthcare access, and providing community support and empowerment.

Qualifications, Knowledges, Skills & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:

1. Coalition Support:

  • Assist in identifying and engaging with key stakeholders, including NGOs, activists, legal experts, policymakers, and community leaders, to build and sustain the coalition dedicated to rights in Lebanon.
  • Provide logistical support for coalition meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation of discussions and action items.

2. Advocacy Assistance:

  • Support advocacy campaigns aimed at abolishing penal codes and advocating for legal protections and anti-discrimination laws in Lebanon.
  • Assist in coordinating advocacy activities and events, including mobilizing supporters, drafting advocacy materials, and liaising with coalition members.

3. Community Engagement:

  • Assist in organizing community outreach programs to provide support, resources, and empowerment opportunities for margialized individuals in Lebanon.
  • Help coordinate events, workshops, and training sessions to raise awareness, build resilience, and foster solidarity within the community.

4. Communication Support:

  • Support communication strategies to raise awareness about rights issues and promote the mission of the organization.
  • Assist in maintaining communication channels with coalition members, supporters, and the broader community, including social media platforms, email newsletters, and website updates.

5. Administrative Tasks:

  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth functioning of coalition activities, including data entry, file management, and budget tracking.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other materials to document coalition progress and outcomes.

Eligible applicants
This assignment will require a consultant with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as human rights, social sciences, or international relations. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous experience in advocacy, community organizing, or related fields, with a demonstrated commitment to rights or social justice issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in Arabic and English languages preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms and online communication tools.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Proud Lebanon and the broader rights movement in Lebanon.
