1. About NAHNOO

NAHNOO is a Lebanese registered Non-Governmental Organization working since 2009 as a research, capacity-building and advocacy platform for participatory policymaking, towards an inclusive society in Lebanon. The NGO rallies volunteers across Lebanon and through multidisciplinary and participatory research, capacity-building workshops, and grassroots activities, we provide a platform for youth and professionals to lead the planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns and gain the skills needed to impact policy-making at the local and national levels.

2. Role Description

The ‘Project Coordinator’ (PC) is in charge of the coordination of assigned projects in various geographical areas in Lebanon in close collaboration with the “Programs Director”.

The PC handles on-site operations/activities & logistics, involved human resources, community relations & representation and safety & security guidelines of staff & beneficiaries are respected.

The PC ensures that all projects implementation & outputs are conducted smoothly with the efficient participation and distribution of NAHNOO’s team, following NAHNOO’s values & strategy, donor standards & requirements and local laws.

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Supports “Program Director” in addressing programmatic challenges in the framework of his/her assigned projects
  • Coordinates & assists the implementation of needs assessment research in various areas in Lebanon (community-based)
  • Ensures projects are contributing a significant impact through on-the-ground monitoring by collecting the necessary data  
  • Produces accurate, analytical and timely reporting of activities & project status throughout its life cycle to the Grants Department (through narrative reports & various illustrative deliverable)
  • Together with the Programs Director and the Grants Department:

- Participates in project evaluation to assess project progress & impact (based on set indicators), beneficiary feedback and & resource effective use.

- Identifies challenges & corrective actions required and captures learning/lessons learned

- Supports oversight & monitoring of team members operating in assigned areas

  • Ensures accountable and efficient systems are in place for the implementation of projects (e.g.: workplan, activity reports, monitoring & evaluation plan…)
  • Supports the management of project budgets by calendaring it and assisting the Procurement officer in drawing a procurement and spending plan efficiently
  • Facilitate communication with participants, local communities, stakeholders and any project partners by establishing and maintaining positive relations (local community members,
  •  Recruit, manage and mentor involvement of volunteers from different cities in NAHNOO’s work in participatory activities, keeping their motivation & commitment high
  • Government officials, municipalities, other NGOs etc)
  • Engage local communities in participating actively in the projects
  • Plan, organize and attend relevant local meetings
  • Coordinate the preparation & organization of assigned projects activities & events with volunteers, participants and any partners and contracted consultants
  • Follow up requirements of grants with Grants Manager and Communication Manager (visibility, deliverable, financial etc)

 

 

4. Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with social studies academic background and similar: Political Science, Public Health, Social Sciences, International Affairs, Economics, Business Management, Cultural, Architecture & urban Planning…  
  • At least 3 years of previous experience working in the civil society context in a non-profit structure (CSO, social business etc)
  • Proven experience in field coordination, planning of program activities and community engagement
  • Proven experience on facilitating peace building, conflict resolution & sensitivity and similar fields by working in multicultural & diverse environments
  • Having a vehicle is appreciated but not mandatory (as frequent traveling within Lebanon might be required)

Key Competencies

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications & communication tools (Zoom, Whatsapp…)
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (oral and written)
  • Good knowledge of the Lebanese context and impact of national & regional crisis in general (and on local communities) 
  • Strong leadership capabilities: ability to mobilize volunteers & local communities
  • Ability to work in multicultural & diverse environments and sensitivity to conflicts
  • Excellent interpersonal, team spirited and communication skills
  • Strong organizational  skills, especially for event planning
  • Logical thinking supported by strong analytical skills
  • Report-writing skills
  • Highly motivated & committed in NAHNOO’s areas of intervention
  • Ability to bear flexible working hours, including attending evening meetings in implementation areas and during weekends (depending on the beneficiaries i.e local authorities & actors schedule). These extra hours/days are replaced according to planning.
