About nafda:
nafda is a social movement that places schools at the center of the community, recognizing their vital role in taking ownership and leading effective change.
Our grassroots model is by the schools, for the schools; it:

●    Embraces a creative, progressive, leapfrogging approach to 21st-century learning,
●    Promulgates the values of engaged citizenship, social justice, and good governance in schools and communities, and
●    Works towards transforming the education landscape.

Our Scope of work:

We plan to achieve this by establishing a robust and inclusive network of school principals across the country who have a shared commitment to reshaping the education system.
We are currently working with 60 schools, through the following actions:

●    Providing grants and resources to take on transformational projects;
●    Coaching and training project teams; introducing new methodologies and tools.
●    Connecting schools to each other, with their communities, and to organizations;
●    Embedding the three nafda values in school communities.

 

Our work at the school level is fuelling our work at the national level:

●    Empowering schools to deliver peer-to-peer support programs;
●    Enhancing principals' capacities in effective school leadership;
●    Facilitating connections between principals, influential thought leaders, and decision-makers;
●    Fostering spaces for advocacy-related efforts and systems change.

 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing innovative educational paths for nafda’s growing network of schools, coaching, monitoring, evaluating their progress, and assisting in the co-design and scaling of successful educational innovations. 

The  Learning Coordinator will be part of the School Transformation Team ensuring the streamlining of activities and that schools are effectively implementing their innovative approaches and achieving their educational goals within nafda’s framework. 

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in education, experience in project coordination, program design, aspects of monitoring and evaluation, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders (school stakeholders, learning partners, donors, etc).

Key Responsibilities:

-    Implementing Innovative Educational Projects: Collaborate with schools to implement innovative educational paths that align with their unique needs, promoting engaged citizenship, good governance, and social justice.
-    Portfolio Oversight: Manage a portfolio of 7-8 schools, offering continuous guidance and coaching for successful integration of innovative approaches into their institutional culture. Conduct regular on-site visits, and assessments, and maintain close communication with school leaders.
-    Following up on M&E: Collecting data for M&E and following up on M&E tools.
-    Capacity Building: Take part in delivering training sessions, workshops, and professional development, tailored to evolving educator needs.
-    Reporting & communication : attend weekly meetings, send bi-weekly reports, and take part in quality assurance sessions.

 

Qualifications:

●    Master's degree in Education or an equivalent field.

●    Previous experience working with schools
●    Some experience in implementing innovative educational approaches.

●    Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a diverse workload.
●    Willingness to travel frequently to schools within the designated portfolio.
●    Previous experience working with NGOs or in a corporate setting is a plus
●    Knowledgeable about monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
●    Strong familiarity with the education sector, preferably within an NGO context.
●    Proficiency in both the English and French language is essential.
●    Excellent communication, interpersonal skills.
●    Passion for education, creativity, and a commitment to improving learning outcomes.
