Summary of the Job:

The site physician provides the following services: giving support to the pre-checklist staff in decision-making regarding vaccination, receiving the patients oriented by the pre-vaccination staff for medical complimentary assessment when needed. Providing emergency medical care if needed before, during or after vaccination. Support the Ministry of Public Health’s vision and effort to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Main tasks and duties:

  • Commit to working hours.
  • Receive patients by identifying themselves.
  • Check the patients’ identity
  • Support the pre-vaccination checklist staff in decision making based on MoPH guidelines, whether to proceed to vaccination or defer it upon request.
  • Conduct complimentary medical assessment pre-vaccination if needed to ensure safe proceeding to vaccination.
  • Provide support to registered nurses in vaccination and monitoring stages in case of suspicion of medical issue.
  • Respond to any medical emergency on site before, during or after the vaccination, providing emergency medical care, basic (and advanced) life support depending on qualifications.
  • Follow emergency management protocols in the event of an adverse vaccine reaction.
  • Coordinate with first aid services and coordinate referrals of patients to emergency department when needed  
  • Ensure proper record of all required information in the patient files and information system, including scanning documentation.
  • Ensure proper record of any medical incident in the patient files and information system.
  • Administer the COVID19 vaccine if needed
  • Abide by all policies and work procedures.
  • Treat all patients with respect and professionalism.
  • Commit to maintain professional ethics, quality of care, patient confidentiality.
  • Inform the site supervisor of any emergency.
  • Perform any other tasks based on needs to ensure proper roll out of the vaccination, upon manager and site supervisor request.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Medical degree (MD) in emergency medicine, internal medicine, general medicine, or anesthesiology. Licensed from MoPH / Registered with the Order of Physicians in Lebanon.
  • Work experience in healthcare facility of one year minimum.
  • Ability to have good verbal and written communication with all workers.
  • Basic computer skills (electronic medical file, Excel, Powerpoint, Word), electronic printer, scanner, fax, etc.
  • Languages: Arabic in addition to English or French.
