The LHDF aims at facilitating the improvement, rationalization and optimization of the response to humanitarian and development needs in Lebanon particularly through:
• Identifying strategic issues;
• Advocating for common positions with a unified and consistent voice to influence policy and decision making;
• Sharing information;
• Engaging and Representing the Forum with external stakeholders;
• Empowering its members to reinforce their role, as local NGOs, in Lebanon;
• Sharing best practices of LNGOs’ interventions in Lebanon.

The LHDF Coordinator provides strategic and technical guidance to the Forum Steering Committee and Plenary, spearheads joint Forum advocacy and operational initiatives, and ensures consistent Forum engagement with response leadership and planning mechanisms. The Coordinator leads the work of the Secretariat and represents, in coordination with the Steering Committee, the Forum internally and externally as necessary to support lobbying with donors, UN agencies and Government Representatives.
