Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct a need assessment for the target group who are youth and adults with disabilities to identify the vulnerability and the need of PSS sessions in line with inter-agency selection criteria.
  • Conduct a desk review for the resources created by LUPD and partners about their intervention specifically the psychosocial support activities, as well as meeting with the psychologist and the case worker to gather information about the target group.
  • Coordination with the inclusion officer to adapt the activities based on the needs of the participants.
  • Developing the training content including the agenda, training methodology, handouts, evaluation forms and pre and post tests, which will be discussed and approved by LUPD team.
  • Prepare a set of structured psycho-social support activities by carefully reading the PSS SOPs and Curriculum Manuals and preparing all required material and equipment in advance. Knowing that the activities should be gender sensitize and inclusive.
  • Adapt the set of activities to be gender sensitize and inclusive taking into consideration the types of disability for the participants.
  • Implement the structured psychosocial support activities in the different targeted areas.
  • Ensure that identification and safe referrals for at risk cases are conducted as per the program strategy and national guidelines with respect to confidentiality and informed consent.
  • Monitor the beneficiaries progress during the psychosocial support activities and identify any person with signs of psychosocial distress to be referred to the Psychologist internally or externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary.
  • Carry out all tasks respecting the key protection principles including but not limited to: do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality and accountability
  • Prepare a detailed report about the overall 8 sessions of intervention with each group indicating the objectives of the activities, the progress and the interaction of the participants as well as the reflections and the adaptation plan implemented when needed.
  • Participate in a periodic meeting with the Project Manager/case worker/psychologist for an overall monitoring of the work plan. 
  • Ensure that the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during Group PSS activities (attendance sheets, permission slips, referrals etc.) respected the data safety protocol.
  • Ensure a safe, friendly and non-discriminatory environment is upheld during all group PSS sessions.
