LOST is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian (VET) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing medical care to animals, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. This role requires strong clinical skills, a deep understanding of animal health, and the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Diagnosis and Treatment:
Examine animals to diagnose their health problems, treat injuries, and prescribe medication. Perform surgeries, as needed, to address various health issues.

Preventive Care:
Provide routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and health screenings to prevent illness and ensure the long-term health of animals.

Emergency Care:
Respond to emergency situations, providing immediate and appropriate care to stabilize and treat animals in critical condition.

Animal Welfare:
Promote and ensure the humane treatment of animals, offering advice on proper care, nutrition, and behavior to pet owners.

Client Communication:
Educate pet owners on the health, care, and treatment of their animals. Provide clear instructions and support to ensure adherence to treatment plans.

Surgical Procedures:
Perform routine and complex surgeries, including spaying/neutering, dental procedures, and orthopedic surgeries. Ensure proper pre- and post-operative care.

Diagnostic Testing:
Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, X-rays, and ultrasounds, to accurately assess animal health conditions.

Health Records Management:
Maintain accurate and detailed health records for all animals under care, ensuring that all treatments and procedures are documented and up to date.

Collaboration:
Work closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, and other support staff to provide high-quality care. Collaborate with other veterinarians for specialized cases or second opinions.

Continuing Education:
Stay current with advances in veterinary medicine by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences. Continuously improve skills and knowledge to provide the best possible care.

Educational Requirements:

A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.

Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the relevant jurisdiction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in veterinary practice, though recent graduates with strong clinical skills may be considered.
  • Strong diagnostic and surgical skills.
  • Compassionate approach to animal care and strong commitment to animal welfare.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with pet owners and within a veterinary team.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and handle stressful situations, especially in emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a variety of animals, including small animals, livestock, or exotic pets.
  • Specialized training or certification in areas such as surgery, dermatology, or internal medicine.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, particularly English and Arabic.

Work Environment:

  • This role typically involves working in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or similar environment, with exposure to animals and their health conditions.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, may be required to accommodate the needs of the clinic and its patients.
