About Jibal
Jibal is a non-governmental organization leading environmental and social justice activities in
Lebanon. We envision a society centered on principles of reciprocity, recognition, and
equitable redistribution. More concretely, Jibal implements different types of projects and
activities, mainly centered around the topics of food sovereignty and education. These are
some examples of its activities:
- Training and coaching of farmers to switch to sustainable farming methods.
- The support of alternative access to market systems where farmers can sell their
- Research and regularly publish reports on topics related to environmental justice,
food sovereignty and education
- Developing and implementing local food plans and strategies (in a caza or a town)
- The support of a group of farmers in the Bekaa to implement a collaborative system
in their work.
- The development of a network of experts and NGOs who work on food sovereignty.
- Educational activities and workshops for kids on topics related to environmental
Jibal collaborates with a number of NGOs, companies and cooperatives for its various
programmes such as: Buzuruna Juzuruna, Field to fork, Ras Maska Gardens, Soils
Permaculture Association, Samen Eco Gardens, Nation Station, Zaher Grow to Learn, FES,
GIZ and Helvetas.

Responsibilities and Duties
● Collaborate and coordinate with each project manager to produce communication
plans according to the objectives and deliverables of his/her project
● Implement the different communication plans and produce a general yearly plan for
the NGO
● When similar tasks are needed from several projects (eg: translation of documents),
make sure to optimize its implementation by hiring the needed consultant to work
on the needed task (eg: one same translator to work on several projects), and
coordinate their work as well as liaise with the project manager or person in charge
at Jibal
● Produce content for Jibal’s social media platforms
● Regularly update the website and social media platforms
● Regularly update internal documents templates (ppt, word, etc) in collaboration with
needed consultants
● Organize and regularly update the mailing list by relevant categories
● Participate in the organization of events such as conferences and workshops.
Participation to Jibal life:
● Closely interact and coordinate with the Jibal team
● Support team member on different aspects
● Take part in weekly general team meetings and in specific events organized by the

Profile of the candidate
● Minimum 3 years relevant experience in communication
● Skills in graphic design
● Good knowledge of social media platforms and websites updates
● Good coordination skills
● Knowledge in the environmental sector is a plus
● Fluent Arabic and English speaking and writing skills, French is a plus.
● The candidate has to be able to take initiative, work in an autonomous and
responsible way

Work Conditions
● 50% of full time: 2,5 days/month (7h/day) with 1 day of vacation per month
● The staff will be based at Mansion, Zoukak El Blat, Beirut.
