Main Responsibilities of the Position

  • Follows up on all purchase request from the project and finds suppliers;
  • Identifies and evaluates vendors for quality and pricing in coordination with the project director;
  • Contacts and negotiates with suppliers;
  • Ensures that supplies and goods are obtained at the best possible prices;
  • Provides all the required invoices, vouchers, quotations, and other documents which must comply with JRS Policies;
  • Follows up on the entire purchase process and ensures that the quality and quantities for delivered goods, matches with requested goods and the description field in the related supporting documents;
  • Conducts a routine follow up on the condition of project's cars and provides all the required supplies and goods to ensure car maintenance, as well as invoices, vouchers, quotations, and other documents related with vehicles service;
  • Transports staff to designated field locations,ensuring their safety and comfort;
  • Takes necessary precautions to ensure the safety of staff by abiding with JRS car policy;
  • Handles the cash and money transfers;
  • Follows up on the entire Logistics errands in coordination with the project director;
  • Ensures prompt execution of other tasks which are within the ambit of a Procurement & Logistics Officer which may be requested by Project Director as needs occur.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree or diploma in business administration or equivalent;
  • At least 1 year of experience in procurement;
  • Compassion and strong commitment for refugees and displaced people;
  • Previous experience with NGO is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of procurement standards and donor guidelines and of the Lebanese market would be an added asset;
  • Possesses integrity and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records;
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Applications (develop spreadsheet and word documents);
  • Good oral and written English. Very Good oral and written Arabic;
  • Trustworthy, good listener, creative, flexible, detail oriented and can maintain confidentiality;
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure;
  • Valid driving license with at least 2 years of driving a vehicle.
