Description: 

Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Medical Advisor will be responsible for providing technical advice and support to personnel working at the supported healthcare centers and the outreach team working in all governorates of Lebanon. He will also be monitoring the quality of care and patient management according to standards and guidelines.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Advise and provide technical guidance to the healthcare personnel and outreach teams implementing the project.
  • Act as the technical focal person for the expanded community outreach - integrated approach project.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of primary healthcare services provided at the community level and identify gaps and problems according to MoPH standards.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and patient care, when needed.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to management on the quality of care and patient management.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences to keep abreast of current practices and guidelines.
  • Participate in planning and development of healthcare services when needed.
  • Monitor early warning systems for outbreaks and investigate emergence of communicable diseases, when applicable.
  • Perform regular visits to supported facilities and the surrounding communities where the outreach component is happening, according to a schedule developed in collaboration with the health officer and/or Project Coordinator.
  • Attend IOCC meetings when needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities to the project coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Willingness to use personal car and to frequently travel to the field and IOCC Office
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English

 

B. Experience:  

  • 2-3 years of work experience
  • Previous experience in NGO, and humanitarian field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in working with vulnerable populations is an advantage.

 

Working Conditions

  • Stationed in the field with frequent visits to IOCC office.
  • Candidate should have a car.
