 OVERALL PURPOSE

The job holder is responsible for supporting the Fundraising Director in developing and implementing innovative digital fundraising strategies to optimize donor engagement and revenue. Developing and executing digital marketing plans to engage supporters and the public to become financial supporters of Greenpeace. As Greenpeace is an independent organization, 100% funded by our supporters, it is vital that we engage our supporters’ financial power as we fight together for our fragile planet and the magnificent diversity of life that calls it home.

 

The Digital Fundraiser Strategist will play a key role in engaging supporters across paid, owned, and earned channels, including email, social media, search, display, and more, working closely with agencies and in-house specialists. This role will develop and execute marketing plans and create compelling campaign storytelling to attract and engage supporters in meaningful ways they can take action on and donate to support our campaigns. Responsible for the end-to-end supporter journey and experience, this role will develop landing pages, email journeys, social content, and ads to engage and attract new supporters (lead generation), with a focus on the acquisition of new regular givers online. 

 

Scope 

In this role, the postholder is a key player in driving the digital fundraising strategy for Greenpeace MENA across the region. The primary responsibility will be to develop and implement innovative digital fundraising campaigns, leveraging the latest technologies and platforms to maximize donor engagement and revenue. This role involves setting the strategic direction for digital fundraising and collaborating with other fundraisers and other departments to achieve organizational goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning Develop and implement a comprehensive digital fundraising strategy tailored to the MENA region. Identify and analyze trends, opportunities, and challenges in the digital fundraising landscape. Set clear objectives and KPIs for digital fundraising campaigns, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall mission and goals.

Campaign Management Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of multi-channel digital fundraising campaigns, including email, social media, and online events. Oversee content creation, ensuring messaging is compelling, culturally relevant, and resonates with target audiences in the MENA region. Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing regular reports and insights to inform future strategies.

Donor Engagement Develop and maintain relationships with key donors, ensuring a high level of engagement and satisfaction. Utilize data-driven insights to segment and target donors effectively, enhancing personalization and donor retention.

Partnership Development Identify and establish partnerships with digital platforms, influencers, and other organizations to expand GP MENA's reach and fundraising potential. Collaborate with the engagement and campaigns teams to integrate fundraising efforts with broader organizational campaigns.

Budget Management Manage the digital fundraising budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximizing return on investment. Explore innovative and cost-effective digital tools and platforms to enhance fundraising efforts.

Compliance Comply with Greenpeace policies regarding funding sources, confidentiality, data handling, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field; a digital marketing certificate is a plus.

Experience & skills

A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in digital fundraising/sales, with a proven track record of success, mainly in the non-profit sector.

Deep understanding of the MENA region, including cultural, social, and political dynamics.

In-depth knowledge of Google and Meta’s advertising and content policies, including experience navigating and optimizing campaigns within these guidelines.

Strong knowledge and practical understanding of fundraising.

Experience in designing and implementing digital fundraising campaigns that effectively engage and retain donors.

Expertise in digital marketing and fundraising tools, platforms, and analytics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences internally and externally

Experience with fundraising software and CRM systems is a plus.

Strong project management skills and attention to detail.

Willingness and ability to travel internationally and regionally as required.

Budgeting experience (preparing, presenting, and monitoring). 

Proven ability to work as part of a team and actively pursue networking.

Proficiency in Arabic and English is required; French is a plus.
