Empowering Youth Climate Ambassadors: A Training For Youth Workers
Green Line Association, as a partner organization with Crossing Borders (Denmark), Leaders of Tomorrow (Jordan) and CESIE (Italy), is looking for applicants to join the training: "Empowering Youth Climate Ambassadors: A training for Youth Workers" from the 2nd to 5th of March 2016 in Denmark.
This training is part of our project “Think Globally, Act Glocally: Climate Youth Ambassadors for a Greener Future”. This project aims to empower youth, mainly from rural areas in Denmark, Italy, Lebanon and Jordan to formulate and communicate their concerns about climate change with decision-makers, and advocate for their right to a healthy, sustainable and safe environment on an international, national and local level.
Through non-formal and informal learning methods, the training will provide 4 youth workers from Lebanon with practical knowledge and innovative methods on debating and advocacy skills. The selected youth workers are expected to use the acquired knowledge to empower young people to become climate youth ambassadors who are capable of advocating their environmental concerns towards decision-makers.
In order to fulfill the selection criteria, the chosen youth workers must:
1) Have an educational background in social science or environmental studies
2) Have 1-2 years of experience working with youth
3) Have a good command of English
4) Be between 18 and 30 years old
5) Be able to participate in the 4 day training course from the 2nd to 5th of March 2016 in Denmark
To make the best possible training, where training materials, food, accommodation and flight are included, a symbolic participation fee of 40 Euros is necessary.
If interested to apply, please send an email including a detailed CV and a Cover Letter to Ms. Amira El Halabi by the 20th of January 2016.
