General Description:

The General Union of Palestinian Women (GUPW), is looking for a Youth Trainer to work within the Multi-Service Community Center (MAKANI) located in Ein El Helweh Camp. The incumbent will be mainly responsible for delivering capacity building training workshops for youth and adolescents and reach out for beneficiaries in the assigned camp.

Background on the Organization:

GUPW was established in 1965. It is a grass root democratic framework that embraces the Palestinian women all around the homeland Palestine and in Diasporas. GUPW operates in all Palestinian refugee camps and gatherings across Lebanon.  GUPW seeks to achieve equality to Palestinian women by challenging the circumstances and making fundamental shifts in all aspects of life. It deals with the different aspects of women’s lives as such as   health, education, legal literacy, income generation and rights advocacy. It views the Palestinian woman as an integral part of the nation and community, thus, gives her great care and attention and realizes its social rights as linked to the future of the society and independent state of Palestine.

 

GUPW aims at promoting the role of the Palestinian woman by intensifying her contribution in the progression process, elevating her learning potentials, skills and experiences in order to face the daily life Challenges. Moreover, GUPW contributes to the rise of the woman’s consciousness, discrimination in employment and child care.

 

GUPW community centers in Lebanon have been providing a package of healthcare, education, child protection services and support for the disabled and oppressed Children in all Palestinian Refugee camps in Lebanon.

 

  • Position: MAKANI Youth Trainer
  • Location:Saida/ Ein El Helweh Camp
  • Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct outreach activities to engage youth and adolescents within the community.
    2. Deliver the MAKANI package workshops designed for Youth and Adolescents following a present curriculum. The workshops include Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy, , Career Guidance, and Job Readiness.
    3. Foster a supportive learning environment conducive to personal and professional development.
    4. Support the establishment of partnerships with relevant stakeholders including local organizations, and educational institutions.
    5. Support the referrals mechanism inside the MAKANI centers.
    6. Maintain accurate records of workshop attendance, participant feedback, and other relevant data.
    7. Prepare regular reports on program activities, achievements, and challenges.
    8. Implement the Monitoring Tools as required by the Youth Program Coordinator and Center Supervisor.
    9. Attend and implement capacity building workshops.
    10. Represent GUPW in related meetings and events.
    11. Perform other job-related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
  • Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, MIS or a relevant field.
  2. Two years of experience in delivering training and workshops to youth and adolescents.
  3. Knowledge of the Palestinian refugee context in Lebanon.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to youth empowerment and community development.
  6. Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
  7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
