Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gender Expert/Researcher to join our team for a period of one year and a half, until the conclusion of our project. The Gender Expert/Researcher will be responsible for leading research initiatives and conducting fieldwork activities to analyze gender dynamics, challenges, and opportunities in Lebanon. The incumbent will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and partners to integrate gender perspectives into project planning, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on gender-related issues including conducting fieldwork activities across the country.
  • Conduct focus group discussions, interviews, and surveys with key stake holders and duty bearers.
  • Design and implement fieldwork activities, including focus group discussions, interviews, and surveys, to collect qualitative and quantitative data on gender issues.
  • Analyze and interpret data to generate insights and recommendations for project implementation and policy development.
  • Prepare research reports on women's representation in politics based on data collected.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive reports, presentations, and publications on gender-related findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and partners to integrate proper gender perspectives into project planning and data collection.
  • Provide support and assistance in all gender equality-related activities, including but not limited to capacity building, advocacy, and awareness-raising efforts.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Gender Studies, Women's Studies, Sociology, International Development, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in conducting gender analysis, research, and programming, preferably in Lebanon or the Middle East region.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including conducting focus group discussions, interviews, and surveys.
  4. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and findings to inform programmatic decisions and policy recommendations.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing and presenting reports, articles, and presentations on gender issues.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team environment, with a strong commitment to gender equality and social justice.
  7. Fluency in English and Arabic languages, both written and spoken.
