Nutrition Counselor
Objective
The project's goal is for children and their caregivers to be able to meet their food and nutrition needs while community members gain enhanced awareness on food security and nutrition.
Outcomes
The counselling aims to promote better health outcomes by improving nutritional awareness, food choices, and overall well-being. The counselling targets specific groups, including children under 2 years of age through Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) education, pregnant and lactating women to ensure adequate nutrition for both mother and child, children under 5 to prevent stunting and other malnutrition-related issues, and households with demonstrated higher nutrition needs.
Deliverables
- To develop a nutrition counselling strategy document.
- Household Nutrition Assessments.
- Personalized Nutrition Plans for 150 households.
- To conduct visits to 150 Households to provide nutrition counseling.
- Development of Educational modules specifically designed for caregivers of children under 2 years of age, focusing on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices, including breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and the importance of nutrition during early childhood.
- Counselling session reports.
- Monthly progress reports for 8 months.
Qualifications
- Higher university degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in providing nutrition counselling or education, particularly to low-income or vulnerable populations. Experience in humanitarian or development settings is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of dietary guidelines, nutrition-related health issues, and best practices in Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF). Familiarity with local food security challenges and cultural dietary practices is advantageous.
- Extensive experience interacting with and relating to gender professionals and international stakeholders at senior level
- Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles
- In depth knowledge of the Lebanese context

Payment terms
- Invoices must be issued no later than the 25th of each month, and payments will be processed within 15 to 20 business days, provided that all deliverables have been submitted.
- Payments will be made via bank cheques.
- All applicable taxes will be deducted from the Consultant’s fees unless the Consultant is registered with the Ministry of Finance.
