Senior Civil Engineer Long Term Consultant - INARA Project

DT Global is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer Consultant STTA for the Innovation for Affordable and Renewable Energy for All (INARA) Activity under the Initiative to Deliver Essential Assistance and Services (IDEAS) Project for USAID in Lebanon with DT Global.

Through INARA, USAID seeks to increase the supply of electricity generation at the community level and to increase the cost-effectiveness, eco-friendliness, sustainability, and reliability of power supply, while clarifying and strengthening the enabling environment for renewable energy-based electrical power generation.

INARA is looking to hire a long-term consultant Senior Civil Engineer to support INARA’s interventions. The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon.

Applications will be reviewed as soon as they are received and decisions will be made on a rolling basis.

Scope of work includes:

• Assisting in the technical components of the project related to infrastructure and engineering including design, construction, hand-over and maintenance.
• Supporting the technical team on the supervision and communication with consultants and subcontractors.
• Providing quality assurance related to INARA’s interventions with direct on-site presence when needed.
• Preparing and coordinating civil and geotechnical design elements/drawings/documents.
• Completing and reviewing technical reports related to civil design notes and methodologies and execution compliance to design.
• Verifying and reviewing of engineering solutions, this includes:
  • Civil modification/retrofit designs (civil design calculations and execution + shop drawings) following adaptation requirements for new components in existing facilities.
  • Structural integrity assessment reports.
• Reviewing and approving material submittals, method statements , surveys and geotechnical reports submitted by subcontractors.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering work.
• Knowledge of civil design standards (ASCE, ASTM, ACI, IBC, etc.) including local Lebanese standards.
• Knowledge of civil and structural calculation tools and software (ETAB, ROBOT, or similar).
• Ability to evaluate technical proposals.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong English and Arabic writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS office and CAD software. 
• Good team player.
• Lebanese citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in working on hydro power plants, solar plants or other RE systems.
• PMP certified (or similar project management certificates).
• Experience with USAID or international developments projects.
