Background: -

The focal point is responsible to lead and coordinate on business solutions, links and cross-reference opportunities to MSEs profiles; and to be responsible to develop and update assessment tools and services based on market dynamic and opportunities.    

 

Key duties and responsibilities of the project technical officer:

  • Lead on the day-to-day field activity implementation and daily communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Work closely with the different functions to ensure synergy, coherence of efforts, and optimisation of resources
  • Map, network and build collaborations with local and national actors including grassroots organizations and MSEs
  • Coordinate the joint work and convening efforts of partners for project activities to ensure that the scope and overall direction and objectives of the project are maintained, and that activities are delivered in line with project timelines and standards;
  • Maintain and expand a dynamic network of MSEs
  • Communicate with MSEs and other stakeholders (project specifics and operations)
  • Lead on technical evaluation processes
  • Identify and develop assessment tools
  • Coordinate working teams within the scope of the project
  • Search and develop opportunities for SMEs by highlighting market opportunities and potential interventions.
  • Use personal and professional networks to make linkages, identify networking opportunities and initiate collaborations that will generate leads
  • Monitoring & follow up staff progress towards established their goals and in the organizational level or joint project plans, and flags in the DROPS overarching management team when problems arise.
  • Identifies, analyses and highlights success and good practices, as well as potential risks and problems.
  • Realizes successful implementation in accordance with the specific gaols, working methods and budget of the project.
  • Conducts assessments and carries out a series of meetings with Market Players to better understand the objectives of each and to identify the competitive advantage
  • Communicates ethically, clearly and explicitly to concerned program staff.
  • Demonstrates a team spirit while ensuring effectiveness in meeting the expected objectives.
  • Implements any additional tasks as communicated by Top Management.
  • Ensure proper daily, and monthly reporting
  • Reports to project manager

  • Experience in MSME development, business climate improvement, and economic strengthening activities
  • Youth/women’s entrepreneurship and value chain development experience highly desired;
  • Business Driven
  • Public relation skills
  • Monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders 
  • Experience in construction sector (field and indicators)
  • Good knowledge and experience in the private sector (Business, Marketing etc.…).
  • Language: English & Arabic is a MUST.
