PROJECT TITLE: Enhanced Psychosocial Skills and Knowledge for Children and Community Members (Expected)

PROJECT OBJECTIVE: At risk children, caregivers, and community members in the Old City of Saida have enhanced psychosocial skills and knowledge reflected in the attitudes, feeling of safety, and wellbeing.

Project Outcomes:

  1. Support at-risk children and caregivers by strengthening positive coping mechanisms, emotional resilience, as well as coping with specific stressors through a set of community-based and focused PSS, and emotional support sessions.
  2. Promote positive parenting knowledge and skills among caregivers allowing them to play a positive leading role in shaping and directing the experiences and opportunities of children’s learning, growth, mental and physical health, psychosocial wellbeing, and development.
  3. To advise, inform and enhance child support protection services through awareness on GBV, referral system/protection services for caregivers, community members, and CP capacity building sessions for local CSOs in the Old City of Saida.

 

 The co-animator will be responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of sessions.

Key Responsibilities of the Co-Animator:

  • Collaborate with the animator to define session goals, objectives and desired outcomes;
  • Assist in designing session agendas, activities, materials to ensure they align with the session’s objectives;
  • Ensure the availability of all necessary resources for the sessions, such as materials;
  • Prepare and distribute pre-session materials;
  • Assist in outreaching children through mapping and assessing to attend PSS activities;
  • Assist in registering and enrolling children in PSS activities;
  • Ensure activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of the project;
  • Ensure that all activities are done in an appropriate, accessible, and safe location in line with minimum child-friendly standards;
  • Attend all required internal and external training and meetings properly;
  • Document all necessary feedback and provide regular monitoring reports to the CP Officer and/or Assistant and/or partner FP on the progress of children and youth;
  • Ensure a daily proper recording of data (# of children, adults participating, activities delivered);
  • Ensure effective engagement of children with disabilities in the PSS activities;
  • Promote and ensure the Children’s participation in all activities;
  • Ensure Do No Harm approach;
  • Undertake all other duties that may be requested by the line-manager and that are compatible with the job;
  • Respect and abide by the Child Protection, Code of Conduct, and PSEA Policy with colleagues, children, and caregivers;

Requirements for the position (Criteria):

  • Minimum of High School graduation, preference will be given to Bachelor;
  • Minimum of 1-year of work or volunteering experience in a related field;
  • Manages time and priorities, meets deadlines;
  • Knowledge in child protection;
  • Cooperates and contributes to achieving goals;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Flexibility and readiness to work during weekends and/or holidays (if needed);

Required training for the position:

  • Safe identification and Referral Training
  • Mental health training
  • Facilitation skills and child friendly space

WORKING HOURS: This is a part-time position requiring approximately 4 working days per week (4-6 hours per day).
