Job Profile
- Required qualifications, competences, and experience
Formal Education
- Baccalaureate & valid driving license
Professional Experience
- At least 2 years of pertinent experience; Knowledge of the surrounding streets and districts, Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. in rush hour traffic), especially in crisis situations
- Driving competence and at least 5 year of driving experience
- Transport technical support to the project
- Ensure that security and administrative requirements are met.
- Support an overall smooth and correct functioning of the project's logbook and consumption book in accordance with GIZ standard procedures.
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Arabic native speaker, English fluency in spoken and written
- good working knowledge of ITC technologies and related software (e.g. Outlook, internet applications) etc. and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Excel, Power Point).

- Major Responsibilities
- Provide transport technical support to the project and ensure that safety and GIZ administrative requirements are met. Support the smooth and correct functioning of the project's logbook and consumption book in accordance with GIZ standard procedures. In addition, all security risks are to be coordinated together with RMO Lebanon.
- Tasks
- Planning travel routes in advance to determine the most expedient journey.
- Picking up project staff from the location and at the time requested
- Collecting payments and issuing receipts
- Considering traffic and weather reports to keep up to date with road conditions
- Adjust route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction, as needed
- Ensure that the project vehicle is clean and roadworthy for all project staff
- Scheduling regular vehicle service appointments and reporting problems
- Keeping a logbook and consumption book
Project Description:
The GIZ project “Strengthening the Resilience of Smallholder Farmers, Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Local Communities in Lebanon (ACE)” is and aims to strengthen economic stabilization and improve social stability through targeted measures to promote cooperation and exchange in three areas of action:
- Agriculture: Support of farmers to form agricultural associations and to produce in accordance with market needs, including training and sharing of good agricultural practices.
- Support of small and medium enterprises (SME): Targeted promotion of income prospects with financial and capacity-building measures to promote entrepreneurial action and closing important gaps in the value chains.
- Local communities & social stability: Joint planning & implementation of low-threshold community initiatives both within civil society and together with local governments to strengthen positive intergroup experiences as well as increasing confidence in local capacity to act.
Location: Main Office in Beirut Hazmieh, project area Bekaa, Mount Lebanon, South Baalbek and Hasbaya, other regions in Lebanon might be added
