Integrate legal rights information dissemination from PE KPs during outreach (2-day workshop for peer KPs)
A review of the theoretical background is required to address concepts, definitions, principles and values of human rights and stigmatization of individuals living with HIV and other KPs.
An interactive training method will be adopted through presentation, discussion, and organization of working groups, in addition to presenting of case studies.
A range of contextual and structural barriers prevent KPs from accessing essential prevention, treatment and care services, these include stigma and discrimination, lack of enabling environment, conservative cultural and gender norms, social, legal and political barriers, insecurity, unrest and forced migration.
In MENA region, governments show weak levels of political commitment to HIV – reinforced by the fact that HIV prevalence is low, thus is not a priority.
The following priority areas will be addressed by the grant:
Priority Area I: Development and implementation of regional and national advocacy strategies to reduce structural barriers to access services and increase country ownership and domestic financing for them.
Priority Area II: Strengthening resource mobilization capacity of regional and national networks and CSOs.
Priority Area III: Promotion of innovative and sustainable service delivery models
