Position: Civil Engineer (Tripoli)
Location: Tripoli, Lebanon
Duration: 10 months
Reporting to: Project Manager
Salary: 1600$ (Consultant)
Overview:
The Civil Engineer will oversee infrastructure rehabilitation for targeted schools, ensuring the quality, safety, and accessibility of facilities to support inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments to identify infrastructure needs for school rehabilitation, focusing on accessibility, safety, and sustainability.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of technical plans and specifications for school facilities, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards.
- Coordinate closely with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project flow and adherence to timelines.
- Supervise on-site work, conduct inspections, and provide technical guidance to ensure work is completed to required standards and specifications.
- Oversee the installation of accessibility features and renewable energy systems (e.g., solar panels) to enhance the sustainability of facilities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all technical activities, including progress reports, safety inspections, and any issues encountered.
- Prepare detailed reports on project outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for future interventions.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager to ensure the successful and efficient completion of infrastructure activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in infrastructure rehabilitation, ideally in education settings.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driving license and ability to drive.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
- Familiarity with safety standards and environmental compliance.
