War on Lebanon 2024 - Daleel Madani at the service of relief efforts | September 2024
It’s been almost a year since the war on Lebanon started in absolute silence from the international community.
The last two weeks however have witnessed a horrific increase in violence, with so far and according to the latest figures, 690 deaths, including 50 children and 94 women, in addition to 2316 injured, and more than 111,700 individuals displaced.
As yet another crisis unfolds in the country, with an absent state, paralysed and bankrupt institutions, grassroots and civil society organisations, are, as usual, the first responders, relying mostly on inter-communal solidarity (We have published extensively on these thematics, see some of our publications on previous experiences here on the July 2006 war response, here on the response to the Nahr al-Bared crisis, and here on the role of community-based organisations in crisis response).
Daleel Madani, the civil society network, is releasing tools at the service of relief actors and IDPs.
The homepage of the website has been updated to feature:
- Direct donation links to trusted campaigns featured on the homepage, currently featuring the Lebanese Red Cross. Other campaigns will be added soon.
- A compilation of all statements, and press releases from humanitarian, development, and international cooperation actors, as well as humanitarian updates on the situation on the ground.
- A compilation of all needed resources for IDPs: shelters, food aid, health, mental health, and important emergency numbers.

As the situation evolves and needs shift, CeSSRA and the Daleel Madani team are committed to continuously updating the above tools and introducing any new feature in response to emerging needs.
Contribute to the response by donating, sharing updates and resources, and getting in touch with our team if you are leading any campaign or providing relief and are not included in the above lists.
