The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization based in Beirut. CLDH was created in 2006 by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily), which has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human rights violations.  

CLDH monitors the human rights situation in Lebanon, fights enforced disappearance, impunity, arbitrary detention and racism and rehabilitates the victims of torture. CLDH regularly organizes press conferences, workshops and advocacy meetings on human rights issues in Lebanon and collects, records and documents human rights abuses in reports and press releases.  

CLDH team on the ground supports initiatives aimed at determining the fate of all missing persons in Lebanon.  

CLDH regularly follows up on numerous cases of arbitrary detention and torture in Lebanon in coordination with Lebanese and international organizations, and with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention WGAD and the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture. 

CLDH currently has 4 offices: Dora, Baouchrieh, Beqaa and Tripoli. 

Since 2007, Nassim Center (Baouchrieh office),  provides rehabilitation services for victims of torture and families of the forcibly disappeared. Nassim’s holistic services are designed as per Istanbul Protocol. They include social, psychological, medical and legal interventions reaching over 100 survivors on a yearly basis.

 

The Finance Coordinator is under the supervision of the Executive Director and deals with all the financial issues and procedures to ensure an ethical and smooth operation at the organization.

Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports

and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers etc.

Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records for projects and for the organization

Prepare and maintain donor agreements and contracts

Manage financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports, and make

recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures

Obtain approvals from the Director and from the donors on all procurements and purchases for the projects and for the organization.

Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.

Provide orientation and training to the organization staff on cost-effective management

Ensure that all financial reporting is completed on time and submitted to donors

Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization

Provide financial inputs for proposal development, project management, Human Resources

Management policies, logistics, travel and other areas of administration

Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology

Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs

Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts

Process transactions in the corporate finance system

       Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years in a similar position

  • Good communication skills and team player

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Previous experience in procurement, compliance, and finance procedures

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Fluency in English and Arabic language

Education:

Completion of Bachelor in Business Administration, Finance or other related fields

Location:

The Finance Coordinator is based in CLDH main office in Dora with visits to other offices when and if needed.
