Context & Background

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.  

About ARYAF PROJECT

ARYAF serves Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises operating in food processing, local hospitality, tourism, the restaurant industry, eco-tourism, and agri-tourism within west Bekaa, Zahle, and South Mount Lebanon.  

The program aims to empower sixty MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) to increase their sales volume, implement a business continuity plan, and train their staff, including youth, women, and disabled individuals.

The program is funded by The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in partnership with Berytech, within the framework of Strengthening Agriculture, Local Communities and Small and Medium Enterprises project (ACE). 

Scope of Work

As a sales and marketing consultant, you will play a critical role in providing the beneficiary with a sales and marketing strategy to drive business growth and enhance the project’s sustainability.

SME Background

Ghanem factory is a manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of all types of Bergul, moghrabieh, frozen moghrabieh, husked wheat, and other kinds of wheat.

The business facility is spread over an 800m2 building for a production line, warehouse, and packaging area. And the outdoor yard for wheat drying.

The company buys all the wheat and raw materials from local farmers in the Bekaa region.

Deliverables

The sales & marketing consultant is expected to fulfill the below key responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis and Development Opportunities:
  • Develop comprehensive marketing and sales plans aligned with the business objectives and target markets.
  • Provide recommendations for product positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Assess current product offerings and recommend adjustments or expansions based on market demands.
  1. Product Branding:
  • Collaborate with the branding team to enhance the image of the factory’s products.
  • Develop strategies to differentiate the brand and increase recognition in the market.
  • Create and refine brand identities, including logos, color schemes, and visual elements.
  • Collaborate with a graphical designer to provide guidance and suggestions on packaging design and product presentation.
  • Generate captivating and creative names for products that align with the business strategy.
  • Develop brand messaging and positioning that reflects the product’s key attributes and benefits.
  1. Sales Strategy Development:
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including exploring potential markets and distribution channels.
  • Develop sales strategies to engage customers and build brand loyalty.
  • Develop sales training programs to enhance the capabilities of the business salespeople.
  1. Analytics and Reporting:
  • Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of marketing and sales campaigns and gain insights into potential customers' preferences, needs, and perceptions.
  • Provide regular reports on key performance indicators and recommend adjustments for optimization.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, marketing, management, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Sales & Marketing Consultant, preferably in the food processing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of brand development, marketing strategies, and Go-to-Market strategies.
  • Proven experience in product branding and packaging design.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic project environment.

How to apply

The selected Consultant is expected to start their activities as soon as possible after selection (the effective date is to be confirmed), and the contract duration is up to 3 months.

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section “Scope of Work, Outputs, and Deliverables,” elaborating on it further.
  • Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
  • Financial Proposal describing the expected remuneration and the proposed period of the intervention divided per deliverable as listed above.

The firm/consultant is required to perform a pre-assessment visit/call to the business to assess and quote accordingly.
