Investment Readiness Expert – AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge - Acceleration Program

Context & Background

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

Scope of work

Berytech is seeking a highly qualified investment readiness expert to deliver a workshop and provide personalized one-on-one business support sessions for 15 innovation teams. This workshop aims to prepare these startups to attract and secure investment by enhancing their pitch, financial preparedness, and overall investment readiness. The selected expert will be responsible for the following:

1. Workshop Delivery:

• Duration: 2-3 hours

Content: The workshop will cover advanced topics relevant to startups at various stages. It will include developing robust financial projections, strategizing for engaging with investors and understanding investor expectations, investment options and funding strategies, reviewing key financial statements and developing growth strategies, financial modeling and how to effectively utilize funds, and develop an investor teaser. This talk aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to attract and secure investment.

The workshop should include interactive elements, such as group activities, case studies, quizzes or live polls, etc. to ensure high engagement and practical learning.

1. One-on-One Business Support Sessions:

Total Number of Sessions: A maximum of 25 sessions. The one-on-one sessions provide personalized guidance and support tailored to the specific needs of each innovation team. The duration of each session is 45 minutes.

These sessions will be divided into two tracks:

• Beginner/Intermediate Track (9 innovation teams): Focuses on creating a simple one-page Investor Teaser. (A minimum of 1 session/team)
• Advanced Track (6 innovation teams): Focuses on developing a more comprehensive Investor Teaser and investment pitch. (A minimum of 2 sessions/team)

Deliverables:

• A detailed agenda and content plan for the workshop
• Workshop material (PowerPoint presentation)
• Delivering one workshop on Investment Readiness
• Conducting up to 25 one-on-one sessions for 15 startups/innovation teams, to be delivered during November 2024.
• Feedback on the progress of each startup/innovation team after each one-on-one session
• Final report on each startup/innovation team
• A detailed Investor Teaser for each startup/innovation team

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in the fields of corporate finance, investment banking, or similar.
• Previous experience working with businesses or startups is a plus.
• Possess strong professional credentials and Investment knowledge and skills
• Demonstrates strong communications skills and professional credibility to influence entrepreneurs.
