FPSS Case Worker

Responsibilities: (in bullet points)

1. Ensure the delivery of FPSS in line with global and national inter-agency SOPs and standards.
2. Identify safe spaces to provide Focused PSS (FPSS) that adhere to the quality checklists for center-based and outreach activities agreed at the inter-agency level.
3. Adapt the location and timing of sessions, content and approach of the focused PSS program to the needs and availability of the participants including children with special needs.
4. Actively identify the most vulnerable: children at high risk of or engaged in child labor and/or early marriage and their caregivers and ensure their enrollment in focused PSS programs, community based PSS, support group or positive parenting.
5. Ensure all children, caregivers in focused PSS sessions are referred to case management. As well as ensuring referrals to other services and assistance as needed and relevant.
6. Actively ensure referrals from community-based protection activities and case management to focused PSS
7. Support participants to provide feedback on focused PSS through the SDQ.
8. Ensure proper documentation of data collected during PSS activities (hard and soft copies).
9. Support the team through observing and monitoring the CB PSS Facilitators’ implementation as required and when needed.
10. Identify Community Focal Points and members of Community Based Groups to deliver CB PSS as facilitators
11. Provide coaching, mentoring and training to CB PSS Facilitators during a 2-month training program on CB PSS curriculum for children and caregivers
12. Deliver CB PSS to children and caregivers as part of the CB PSS Facilitators 2-month training program. Successively handing over the direct facilitation of sessions to the facilitator
13. Closely coordinate with the caseworkers to ensure the case plan is taken into consideration, to tailor focused PSS intervention to the needs of each child and caregiver.
14. Deliver Parenting curriculum to caregivers of children attending focused PSS.
15. Support the logistics and procurement processes needed for the implementation of PSS activities.
16. Maintain positive relations with implementing actors, local authorities and other international and stakeholders.
17. Perform any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Child protection officer.

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)

• 3 years of experience in delivering case management to CP cases required
• 3 years of experience in provision of Psychosocial support activities with children and caregivers
• Trained on CP case management National SoP
• Good knowledge of CP case management principles
• Excellent knowledge of child protection and GBV and PSS basic principles
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, safety and inclusion of CP and GBV cases at all times
• Excellent gender and age appropriate facilitation skills, child development and adult learning techniques, and good knowledge of GBV, child protection and PSS basic principles
• Excellent knowledge of child development and adult learning techniques
• Excellent capacity building, training, coaching and mentoring skills
• Excellent knowledge of the negative impacts of child labor on child development
• Excellent knowledge of the worst and other forms of child labor
• Excellent communication and psychosocial first aid skills
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
• Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings is a plus

Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)

• Bachelor in Social work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field

Languages: (indicate fluency level)

• Fluency in Arabic is a must
• Ability to communicate and write clearly in English is a plus
