Call for Trainers - Theater course (Nabaa' - Bourj Hammoud)

The training will specifically focus on protection-related topics, including mental health (stress, anxiety, body shaming, depression), child abuse and support to help-seeking, diversity and inclusion, bullying (especially cyberbullying), through expressive techniques of modern theater, in order to support the participants in expressing their emotions and embracing their feelings, and enhancing the dialogue within their communities.

At the end of the course, a final performance will be organized at the community center at the presence of Nabaa’ community.

The course will take place at B&Z's community center in Nabaa'.

By the end of the training, the children and teenagers will have:

  • learned expressive theater techniques;
  • commonly developed and performed a theater play;
  • learned about self-expression and self-identification of emotional needs

Tasks and deliverables

  • Co-participate, together with the protection team of the project, in the recruitment of 45 participants (15 per group);
  • Introduce the participants to the theater course and develop their acting skills;
  • Provide theatre training to the participants to enhance their capacity of self-expression;
  • Guide the youth to develop a theater script and rehearse for the performance;
  • Coordinate the organization and implementation of the final performances;
  • Provide feedback through session reports to be delivered to ARCS Project Manager on a monthly basis;
  • Submit a final report highlighting the impact of the intervention, recommendations and lessons learned.

Conditions of service and Management

  • The duration of the contract is based on the below mentioned deliverables, with the expected starting date in July 2023;
  • The contracts for the local trainers are made by ARCS according to its rules and regulations. The trainer will report to ARCS Project Manager;
  • Trainers should maintain a training report and comply with all other ARCS regulations.

Payments

  • Payment installments will be organized in two installments, one upon submission of the mid-term report, and one upon the submission of the final report, and will be processed through bank transfers or bank letters.
  • The payment is to be considered per session (3 hours), and will be paid in USD.
