Since 2016 arche noVa (A.N) has been active in Lebanon, implementing projects focusing on access to safe water, sanitation as well as on informal education. We are currently expanding our activities in the livelihood sector in the Nord and Akkar region. For the implementation and coordination of this humanitarian aid project we are looking for an experienced professional:

Consortium Coordinator:

1. Role and Responsibilities:
The Consortium Coordinator will be responsible for providing comprehensive guidance and direction, ensuring effective management and technical expertise, and overseeing administrative aspects to ensure the successful implementation of a project funded by BMZ. The position will require the coordination and alignment of the activities of consortium partners, ensuring adherence to donor requirements, and actively pursuing project goals within designated timeframes and budgets. The role will also prioritize developing and maintaining of strong relationships with various stakeholders, that includes donors, local and international collaborators, and government officials.

2. Key Responsibilities

Section A: Grant Management and Representation
• Take charge of establishing and implementing effective coordination and communication mechanisms among consortium members. This includes organizing project kick-off meetings, conducting regular technical review meetings, and overseeing project close-out meetings.
• Develop and carry out meeting structures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and tools that foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity development among consortium partners.
• Supervise the project planning and implementation process, ensuring that it is carried out in a timely manner by effectively coordinating activities with all consortium members.
• Consistently monitor project outputs, work plans, and cash burn rates; promptly identify and resolve any delays or issues to ensure the project is completed on schedule.
• Collaborate with the technical team to formulate strategies pertaining to gender, diversity, inclusion, protection, and advocacy within the consortium project.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with donors, local and international partners, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate the successful execution and visibility of the project.

Section B: Internal Coordination
• Take charge of the consortium structure by providing direct supervision to key positions, cultivating a productive and responsible work atmosphere.
• Ensure the timely and compliant implementation of all project activities for arche noVa. This includes taking charge of internal review meetings, maintaining budget control, and following up with technical managers.
• Facilitate the promotion of AN's work by delivering presentations, producing and distributing visibility materials, while ensuring strict adherence to donor and AN visibility regulations.
• Ensure the protection of AN's assets and interests, mitigating any potential losses resulting from fraudulent activities, wasteful practices, or inadequate value for money.

Section C: Project Administration and Capacity Building
• Create program staff structures related with the project, oversee recruitment processes, monitor performance, and promote capacity building initiatives, including managing disciplinary procedures if required.
• Oversee and manage the project's financial, procurement, and administrative processes in strict adherence to AN policies and donor requirements.
• Create and supervise strategies for capacity building, specifically for the consortium's local partners.
• Supervise the implementation and maintenance of knowledge management systems to ensure comprehensive documentation throughout all organizational units.

3. Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of a Master's degree in a field such as Development and Cooperation, Humanitarian and International Affairs, Finance, Engineering, Non-profit Management, or a related discipline is required.

Professional Experience

Applicants should possess a minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience in overseeing and implementing international development projects, with a particular emphasis on climate change, livelihood, environmental resilience, or other related fields.
Demonstrated expertise in projects funded by reputable organizations such as BMZ, German Federal Foreign Office, EuropeAid, ECHO, CBPF, UN Agencies, or USAID.
Proficient in facilitating multi-stakeholder engagements, implementing collective impact strategies, and navigating climate policy frameworks.

Proficiencies and Capabilities
Demonstrates exceptional leadership, organizational, and management skills, exemplifying a track record of successfully guiding diverse teams with various backgrounds and expertise.
Strong capacity building and guidance/support abilities, especially when working with local partners.
Proficiency in fostering collaboration, facilitating knowledge acquisition, and implementing adaptive management strategies.
Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
It is important to have a strong awareness of cultural differences and possess a high level of intercultural competence and conflict sensitivity.
Proficient in handling high-pressure situations and adept at adjusting to dynamic project environments.

4. Reporting and Accountability
The Consortium Coordinator will have a direct reporting line to the Head of Program at arche noVa. Regular updates on project progress, financial management, and stakeholder engagement are necessary for this role.

Location of duty station: (Tripoli, Lebanon) with frequent travels to the project locations
