Description: 

AFE is seeking an experienced MEAL Officer to support its Grants Unit 

Main Tasks:

  • Responsible for implementing Monitoring activities to ensure timely and quality implementation of AFEMENA’s activities and for monitoring activity progress according to project indicators. Support in the completion of data collection tools, assessments, and needs identification
     
  • Perform spot checks report on project implementation and prepare a briefing for MEAL & program unit
     
  • Responsible for regular contact with field/partner staff to monitor the collection of data and ensure accuracy and timeliness
     
  • Provide support for project managers and staff in using AFE's MEAL toolkit
     
  • Contribute to weekly/monthly progress reports under the supervision of the Grants Unit Manager and assist the grants unit with other program reports as AWC data entry on IATI and other data reporting platforms
     
  • Data collection, cleaning, storage, and reporting
     
  • Proposal development and revision in collaboration with the Grants Unit Manager 
     
  • Other tasks as delegated by the Grants Unit Manager

 

 

 Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor Degree, Technical diploma or degree in social work
  • At least one year of relevant experience in similar position, preferably in monitoring and evaluation roles (M&E), including experience in working with quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles and humanitarian processes, in particular humanitarian standards for assessments, monitoring and accountability
  • Familiarity with the Regional LGBTQI context
  • Excellent knowledge of and practical experience with MS Office, especially with Excel (Excel Experience in coaching or training on data entry or data collection in particular is an advantage;
