Call For Proposals: Inequality Mobility And Development In The Arab Region, Acss Research Grants Program

اللامساواة والحراك والتنمية في المنطقة العربية - منح تمويل أبحاث من قبل المجلس العربي للعلوم الاجتماعية - الجولة الثانية ٢٠١٤/٢٠١٦

يسرّ المجلس العربي للعلوم الإجتماعيةأن يعلن عن الجولة الثانية من مسابقة الإستفادة من منح مخصصة للأبحاث في موضوع "اللامساواة والحراك والتنمية في المنطقة العربية".

تهدف الدعوة لتقديم مشاريع الأبحاث هذه إلى إستقطاب مجموعة كبيرة من التجارب والأمثلة من مختلف البلدان والمواقع في المنطقة. ويمكن أن تركز المقترحات على أيّ من المواضيع الفرعية الثلاثة التالية: (1) اللامساواة، (2) الحراك، (3) التنمية، غير أن المقترحات الأكثر تنافسية ستكون تلك التي تدرس الروابط بين إثنين من هذه المواضيع على الأقل. كما إننا نشجع الدراسات المُقارنة التي تعاين وتفحص أكثر من بلد أو موقع في المنطقة. وفي حين أننا نركز على السمة المعاصرة للموضوع، فإن الدراسات التاريخية التي تفحص هذه العمليات على المدى الطويل تلقى تشجيعنا بدورها. كما تعتبر المشاريع الكمية والنوعية مؤهلة للانتخاب ونشجع المناهج المختلطة فضلا عن النُهج المتداخلة الاختصاصات. وأخيراً، يتوقع من المقترحات الناجحة ان تساهم في قراءة نقدية حول ما إذا كانت أُطر العلوم الاجتماعية الحالية ملائمة لبناء أطر نظرية حول هذه القضايا ولإجراء دراسات ميدانية في المنطقة العربية بالاضافة الى إقتراح نُهج وأساليب جديدة.

وستكون المنح متاحة للباحثين على المستوى الفردي (وتصل قيمتها إلى 20 ألف دولار أميركي) وفرق الباحثين (وتصل قيمتها إلى 50 الف دولار أميركي) من المنطقة العربية، سواء كانوا يقيمون في المنطقة أو خارجها في الوقت الحاضر، والذين تتركز بحوثهم في المقام الأول على المجتمعات العربية. وهذه المنح مخصصة لتغطي إطار زمني محدد لا يتجاوز 24 شهرا كحد أقصى.

Inequality, Mobility and Development in the Arab Region- Research Awards from the Arab Council for the Social Sciences - Second Round 2014/2016

The Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS) is pleased to announce the second round of its Research Grants Program competition on the theme of “Inequality, Mobility and Development in the Arab Region.”

The competition aims at canvassing a broad range of research proposals from across the different countries and localities of the region. Proposals may focus on any of the three sub-themes of (1) inequality; (2) mobility; (3) development, but the most competitive proposals will be those that examine linkages across at least two of these themes. We also encourage comparative studies that look at more than one country or location in the region. While the focus of the theme is largely contemporary, historical studies that examine these processes over the long term are also welcome. Quantitative as well as qualitative projects are eligible and mixed-methods, as well as interdisciplinary, approaches are encouraged. Finally, successful proposals will also critically examine whether current social science frameworks are adequate to conceptualize and empirically study these issues in the Arab region and suggest new approaches and methodologies.

Grants will be available to both individual researchers (up to USD $20.000) and teams of researchers (up to USD $50.000) from the Arab region, whether currently resident in or outside the region, and whose research focuses primarily on Arab societies. Grants are intended to support a maximum time-line of 24 months.

Inégalité, Mobilité et Développement dans la Région Arabe - Subventions de Recherche du Conseil Arabe pour les Sciences Sociales - Second Tour 2014/2016

Le Conseil Arabe pour les Sciences Sociales (CASS) a le plaisir d’annoncer le second tour de son concours du Programme de Subventions de Recherche sur le thèmed’Inégalité, Mobilité et Développement dans la Région Arabe

Cet appel à propositions souhaite démontrer une ample variété d’exemples et d’expériences à travers les différents pays et localités de la région. Les propositions peuvent avoir comme sous-thèmes (1) l'inégalité, (2) la mobilité (3) le développement, mais les propositions les plus compétitives seront celles qui examinent les liens entre au moins deux de ces thèmes. Nous encourageons également les études comparatives qui examinent plus d'un pays ou locale dans la région. Bien que le thème soit surtout contemporain, des études historiques qui examinent ces processus sur le long terme sont également encouragées. Des projets quantitatifs, qualitatifs, ainsi que des approches interdisciplinaires ou qui utilisent des méthodes mixtes sont tous acceptables et encouragés. Finalement, les propositions réussies examineront si les cadres actuels des sciences sociales sont suffisantes pour conceptualiser et étudier empiriquement ces questions dans la région arabe et de proposer de nouvelles approches et méthodologies.

Ces subventions seront disponibles à des chercheurs individuels (jusqu'à USD $20.000) ainsi qu’à des équipes de chercheurs (jusqu'à USD $50.000) venant de la région arabe (résidents actuellement vivant dans ou hors la région) et dont la recherche se concentre principalement sur des sociétés arabes. Les subventions sont censées durer une période maximum de 24 mois.
