Background: 

The Child Protection program has the aim of providing psychosocial support for children and their caregivers to enable them improving resilience and promoting positive coping mechanisms, facing hard situations and stressful events and incidents. It ensures that vulnerable people are supported and empowered in order to keep them safe. The Social Worker will work under the supervision of the Field Coordinator with necessary liaison with the Program Coordinator and CP Officer on the required and assigned tasks. The Social Worker will be based in Amel center as part of the Child protection team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

✓ Work closely with the protection team to develop and lead the project activities.
✓ Participate in and lead community groups in personal development activities and community development initiatives.
✓ Support the team in conducting an outreach for beneficiaries among targeted populations for the different activities.
✓ Plan and conduct psycho-social support sessions, life skills sessions, and awareness sessions for beneficiaries at the community centers and outreach field level. Alongside with registering and filling all the monitoring and evaluation tools related to the project activities.
✓ Prepare and conduct recreational activities for the targeted participants.
✓ Ensure safe identification and referral for beneficiaries to internal and external services.
✓ Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports and documentation for activities in a timely manner and report directly to M&E focal point.
✓ Keep track of all material and equipment needed for each activity.
✓ Regular follow up, monitor and review of cases’ vulnerabilities.

Other Duties: 

✓ Mobilize and participate in the various community-based activities;
✓ Ensure coordination between the centers of AMEL;
✓ Attend and participate in local and capacity-building training throughout the year;
✓ Complete all online courses requested from the program coordinator throughout the year;
✓ Be available to attend and participate in internal and external meetings;
✓ Meetings with other program staff are required and will be on a timely basis;
✓ Ensure following up the attendance sheet for the staff on a daily basis;
✓ Maintain positive relations with other team members;
✓ Ensure the utmost confidentiality of the beneficiary's data and information;
✓ Maintain flexibility to apply and undertake any other task related the project, and required by the center coordinator and/or program coordinator;
✓ Support in coordinating with, head of centers, social workers and field coordinator as well as works closely and effectively with Amel teams and other focal points;

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 

- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, social sciences, Humanitarian Affairs, International Development, or another relevant field. Master’s Degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, or other relevant academic field with extensive experience in CP programs is a plus.
- At least 3 years practical experience in implementing protection projects at international or national NGOs.
-  Knowledge of Child Protection in the humanitarian context and familiarity with the main CP tools, the Package safe identification and referrals, and the guidelines on PSEA.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within multi-cultural environments; ability to work within a team structure or independently, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources.

- Demonstrated experience working with multiple age ranges including facilitating trainings
and/or activities targeting children and youth.

Location: Ersal/ Central Bekaa (Chmestar, Bar Elias, Marj), 

Center: Chmestar with possible movement to Saadnayel
