Adyan implements projects across Education, Training and Research, Policy Making, Media and Grassroots outreach. Each project, and potential project, requires a thorough development process, working closely with partners, stakeholders and Adyan’s team members to design initiatives that are effective, efficient, relevant, achievable, and that safeguard all involved. This includes conducting analysis to understand the context and baseline, formulating clear goals and activities, and developing a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan.

The Partnerships and Fundraising Manager is expected to lead the process of identifying, summarizing, and prioritizing calls for proposals and other funding opportunities, to lead the concerned team into the process of writing the proposals, and to follow up and track down the proposals with the relevant donors.

 

As a member of the Development & International Relations (DIR) Department, the Partnerships and Fundraising manager shall be the main focal point for the international relations of Adyan with different donors, networks, and partners, maintaining and building these relationships to bare fruitful cooperation.

 

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Monitor, prioritize and summarize funding opportunities, to facilitate decision-making by senior management
  • Develop proposals, including development of a project logframe and research into different aspects of country contexts
  • Conduct mapping, research and outreach to potential partners
  • Prepares proposals by determining concept, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.
  • Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.
  • Meet proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
  • Keep a track of potential and existing funding opportunities.
  • Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, brainstorming with relevant team members, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
  • Develop proposals as per the specific requirement of each call and/or donor.
  • Write, revise, and edit drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
  • Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and urgent response.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.
  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Participate in relevant internal and external events and meetings, in Lebanon and abroad, and provide meeting summaries as the executive director & when necessary to the Board

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required skills and experience:

 

Education:

  • University degree, preferably in communications, social sciences, or a related field

 

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of proven successful experience in proposal writing, with NGOs or INGOs
  • Experience in partnership-building, including conducting mapping and managing a network of contacts
  • Awareness of key donors and stakeholders in the diversity/peacebuilding/humanitarian fields
  • Experience in research and summarizing multi-source information

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to details in terms of data, financial information and all written communication
  • Ability to organize and accurately complete multiple tasks by establishing priorities
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and remotely, when needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Email

Language requirements:

  • Professional level written and spoken English language.
  • Proficient in Arabic. Knowledge of French would be an asset.

JOB INFORMATION

Depending on the qualifications, experience and track record of the candidate, a work package would be designed to suit the requirements of both parties.

The job could potentially be a full-time job or a part-time job or a retainer and achievement-based job, with the financial compensation and working hours varying as per the format agreed upon.
