VIDEO ASSIGNMENT ON ‘HYGIENE AND HANDWASHING’

ABOUT ACTION AGAINST HUNGER

Action Against Hunger (AAH) is a global humanitarian organization that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. We save the lives of malnourished children. We ensure families can access clean water, food, training and healthcare. We enable entire communities to be free from hunger. We are present in Lebanon since 2006 implementing projects in the following sectors: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Nutrition and Mental Health; Food Security and short-term Livelihoods such as Cash for Work and Income Generation Activities.

BACKGROUND

Action Against Hunger Lebanon, with the support of UNICEF, is currently conducting awareness sessions on handwashing specifically directed to vulnerable Syrian refugee children from different age groups living in informal tented settlements in the Bekaa. These sessions are meant to raise awareness on the importance of handwashing with soap to remove germs and prevent COVID-19 and other infectious diseases focusing on the 5 steps of handwashing.

PURPOSE OF THE SERVICE:

The aim of this audio-visual product is to raise awareness among the target communities and to present the sessions to the different external audiences as an innovative approach that involves the children instead of only adults highlighting the positive impact that the activities not only had on the participants in an individual manner but also on their households’ members and daily life.

Thus, through 6 selected kids’ testimonials and discussions (3 females and 3 males from different age groups), the video will provide information about the importance of handwashing and the impact of the new practices learnt by the children at a household level.

The final product will be launched on the International Handwashing Day event the 15th of October during a handwashing awareness session meant to target children between 6 to 12 years old, and it will also target more children from different age groups via WhatsApp.

In addition, the video will be shared in our social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and potentially YouTube) in order to reach the different external audiences.

Finally, second version of the video may be adapted and shared by the Spanish headquarters with the Spanish external audiences.
