Youth advocacy for Quality Physical Education (QPE) in the Arab Region

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic crisis has highlighted the importance of well-being and resilience in physical and mental health, as large proportions of world population become vulnerable to the virus due to underlying health conditions. However, the importance of sporting activities is crucial in strengthening both physical health of the individuals and overall
resilience in communities, one-size-fits-all approach can be inaccessible to individuals with varying abilities or special needs. In order to urge inclusivity and diversity in the sports field,

UNESCO designed Quality Physical Education (QPE) policy promoting individual-centered physical education approach, which is rooted in inclusion with regards to gender, socio-economic backgrounds, age, disability and ethnicity.

In order to raise awareness of values and strategies promoted by QPE policy within the Arab region, UNESCO is partnership with Chabibeh Club Lebanon is promoting QPE in the Arab region and more specifically to enable youth to become leaders of advocacy for diversity and inclusion in sports, in cooperation with Desert Bloom Jordan.
