Expertise France has been identified by the EU Delegation in Beirut as the main implementing partner of a new PADA programme aimed at supporting the Government of Lebanon in promoting gender equality and promote women economic empowerment. The overall objective of the programme is to support equality between men and women by enhancing an effective institutional mechanisms for gender equality, by reducing gender based violence and promoting women economic empowerment.

Akkar Network for Development (AND) has been working in Akkar for more than 5 years with women, youth and local authorities to promote the well-being of the community. In addition to other interventions in the area AND is currently operating 3 Women and adolescent girls static safe spaces in Akkar (Jurd, Sahel and Halba areas) and 6 mobiles' in the most deprived areas of Akkar (in partnership with Unicefl), providing a full fledge GBV program to better support at risk women and adolescent girls.
