Call for Expert: In-Depth Analysis of Lebanon's Pharmaceutical Sector

Context & Background

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is the global platform for liberal values and politics. Established in 1958, it promotes individual freedom and liberalism in cooperation with local partners through civic education, international political dialogue and political counseling programs on an international scale.

The project involves a research study that aims to conduct an in-depth exploration of specific sub-sectors – the pharmaceutical industry, and cultural and creative industries – which fall within the broader sectors previously studied. The objective is to provide a more detailed analysis of these subsectors, identifying their unique characteristics, challenges, opportunities, and potential for growth and development.

The expert will provide comprehensive analysis and insights into Lebanon's pharmaceutical sector, contributing to roundtable moderation, policy brief writing, article creation, and infographic development.

Scope of work

Tasks and Deliverables: 

Co-author/Author a 20-page Policy Brief on the Pharmaceutical Sector 

   -   Task Description: 

     - Conduct thorough research and analysis to develop a detailed policy brief. The brief should cover the current state of the sector, key challenges, regulatory landscape, and recommendations for policy interventions.

   -   Deliverable:  

     - A 20-page policy brief document.

   -   Deadline:  

     - Draft Submission: End of Month 2.

     - Final Submission: End of Month 3.

Write a 6-page Article on the Pharmaceutical Sector 

   -   Task Description: 

     - Produce a concise, insightful article summarizing the key findings from the policy brief, targeting a broader audience such as policymakers, industry stakeholders, and the public.

   -   Deliverable:  

     - A 6-page article on the pharmaceutical sector.

   -   Deadline:  

     - Submission: End of Month 3.

Advise on Infographic Development 

   -   Task Description: 

     - Provide expert advice on the design and content of infographics that will visually represent key data and insights from the policy brief and article.

   -   Deliverable:  

     - A set of recommendations for infographic development.

   -   Deadline:  

     - Submission: Within one week after the final article submission.

Timeline Overview: 

-   Month 1:   Draft policy brief submission.

-   Month 2:   Final policy brief and article submission.

-   Month 3:   Infographic recommendations.
