Title: Research Assistant

Salary: 600 USD/month

About the role

Train/Train Lebanon in cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Lebanon Office in Beirut (KAS) work to implement a research titled "Syrian Refugee in Lebanon's Economy" that seeks to explore and compare the impact of formal versus informal economic activities on Syrian refugees and host communities within Lebanon.

Train Train as implementing partner is seeking a Research Assistant to support our new Research, "Syrian Refugee in Lebanon's Economy."

The Research Assistant will understand economic and refugee integration policies. They will work alongside other Research team members to identify work to understand and analyze economic activities, income levels, and livelihoods and understand how formalization influences the financial well-being of refugees and locals, particularly in Akaar North Lebanon and Bekaa—the economic impact of municipal policy. There will also be opportunities to be involved in research using traditional quantitative and qualitative methods, including health system assessments, surveys, and focus group discussions.

As a successful candidate, you will possess a bachelor degree in social sciences, data sciences, data management, or other related fields and have good knowledge and experience in working with refugee data in the Lebanese context, which is essential for this role.

Further requirements include:

  • Knowledge of statistical programming languages like SPSS, Nvivo, Atlasti…
  • Experience in basic and advanced analytical techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Understanding of the key research methods and research governance.
