The Nawaya Network is an NGO based in Beirut, Lebanon that develops the income-generating opportunities of youth through entrepreneurship, employability, and economic development programs.

We are seeking a Graphic Designer to fulfill the below tasks and responsibilities:

 

 

  • Conducts design briefs and determines its various requirements.
  • Conceptualizes visuals based on requirements communicated clearly and explicitly by the Marketing & Communication director ( i.e. direct supervisor)
  • Prepares rough drafts and presents new ideas to the Communication unit as requested per program especially GIL and CISCO.
  • Develops illustrations, logos, digital assets, certificates, branding collateral, and other designs using the appropriate software with the oversight given by the direct supervisor.
  • Creates visuals and designs for social media posts, web creative, event branding, campaigns, and other visuals with corrective actions taken when communicated by the direct supervisor and/or Top Management.
  • Works with the Marketing Director to uplift the Nawaya logo and create and update a full brand kit for Nawaya to include various guidelines and templates.
  • Uses the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic based on the general Nawaya brand kit, and specific program brand guidelines as communicated by the direct supervisor.
  • Develops the designs for the Nawaya Network monthly newsletter, impact, and other reports in a timely manner as the direct supervisor needs to submit the Newsletter within a predefined Timeline as agreed upon by the Founder/Director.
  • Prepares and observes a calendar of holidays and relevant UN days to create posts around it with the final approval given by the driect supervisor.
  • Works closely and coordinates constantly with the Marketing and Communications Director to produce final design as requested by Top Management and/or Donors.
  • Renders designs into animations for reels and other video needs as requested by the direct supervisor.
  • Prepares finished art by operating necessary equipment and software.
  • Tests graphics across various media to ensure that the sizes are compatible.
  • Develops and Provides visuals and photos for the Nawaya Website and Employment Portal.
  • Develops logos and labels for the ARED program MSMEs in a timely manner and based on their needs.
  • Communicates ethically, clearly and explicitly to concerned program staff.
  • Demonstrates a team spirit while ensuring effectiveness in meeting the expected objectives.
  • Takes corrective action regarding various Program designs after the feedback is clearly communicated by the supervisor.
  • Ensures that all program (GIL and NOMU particularly) and Nawaya final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
  • Reviews the final layouts again and suggests improvements when necessary especially when designs can be optimized to be more innovative and creative.
  • Monitors visual trends and relays the data analytics to the direct supervisor.
  • Respects deadlines and raises red flags or bottlenecks to the Marketing and Communications Director to be resolved.
  • Implements any additional tasks as communicated by Nawaya Top Management.

 

 

Education:

Graphic Design/Illustration/Fine Arts or related field.

Experience:

Up to 6 years working experience in deisgning visuals, digital media experience. Work experience in a NGO is a plus.

Competencies:

  • Proven graphic designing experience,
  • Strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics,
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop),
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details, excellent communication skills,
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines, degree in design, fine arts or related field is a plus

 

Skills:
