Call for Trainers - Business Model Canvas Workshop - Idealab

Park Innovation is a mission oriented organization driven by innovation integrating a community project, coworking space, tech hub, and business accelerator, striving towards rural empowerment through promoting entrepreneurship and employability. Park Innovation is currently implementing Idea Lab, a program in partnership with Berytech and co-funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Lebanon aimed at empowering startups innovating in the sectors of agrifoodtech/agriculture and clean energy, through technical and financial support.

We are on the lookout for a seasoned and proficient trainer to deliver the Business Model Canvas Workshop, with the goal of assisting startups in building their initial business model and identifying key value propositions. Through practical exercises and discussions, participants will gain insights into the Business Model Canvas framework, its application in startup ventures, and the process of validating prototypes with potential customers.

Scope of Services

The selected trainer will be responsible for the workshop from planning to execution and monitoring. (5 hours for 10 teams simultaneously)

The workshop shall cover the following key areas:

a. Introduction to Business Model Canvas

Understanding the importance of the Business Model Canvas in the startup ecosystem.

Overview of the nine building blocks of the Business Model Canvas framework.

b. Building the Business Model

Guiding startups through the process of filling out each section of the Business Model Canvas, including Key Partners, Key Activities, and Key Resources.

Identifying and refining main value propositions and customer segments.

c. Validating Prototypes

Understanding the significance of validating prototypes with potential customers.

Learning methods to test prototypes and gather feedback for iterative improvements.

d. Examples and Case Studies

Providing inspiration and insights through examples and case studies of successful business models and startups.

Expected Deliverables

The appointed trainer is required to provide a comprehensive curriculum outline, detailing the various subtopics to be covered during the workshop, along with estimated durations for each segment. 

Following approval, the selected expert will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the 5-hour workshop aligned with the approved curriculum.

The trainer shall follow the relevant procurement procedure.

Qualifications

This proposal welcomes applications from independent trainers/consultants or legal entities based in Lebanon.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Engineering, or a related field is required, with preference given to candidates holding a Masters or PhD.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with startups, preferably in agritech and cleantech sectors
  • Hands-on expertise in agritech and cleantech sectors, including understanding of current trends, regulations, and challenges
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with awareness of startup landscape and opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Availability to conduct the workshop at Park Innovation, Semkanieh- El Chouf (tiny.cc/pi-location)
