Souk El Tayeb is looking for an Accounting Officer to join our team at Souk el Tayeb. You will be responsible to ensure accurate and up to date bookkeeping and for the timely receipt of all required documents and data (from outlet managers, suppliers, clients…).

Souk El Tayeb is a social enterprise working on projects to preserve culinary traditions, and rural heritage and promote community development through People empowerment, respect, ownership, and passion for excellence.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure that bookkeeping is up to date, correct and in compliance with the Lebanese chart of accounts.
  2. Perform sales data entry for all outlets, as well as daily suppliers’ invoices and credit cards.
  3. Ensure invoices received from suppliers comply with internal procedures and with legal requirements as well as follow up with managers on pending invoices (i.e. containing all the legally required data, signed by the relevant outlet manager, that no goods are received without the related invoice). Also responsible for creating sales invoices from the system.
  4. Prepare the reconciliation of bank accounts, clients and suppliers accounts with the respective statements.
  5. Assist with follow up on and collection of receivables from clients and with the management of payments to suppliers.
  6. Assist in the Cash Flow procedure (closing daily sales and petty cash with outlets managers).
  7. Assist with cost control analysis and management.
  8. Assist with the preparation of legal and fiscal governmental requirements in terms of declarations.
  9. Providing the auditors with the requested data and documents as part of their year-end audit process.

Qualifications:          

  • Computer literate – familiarity with accounting system.
  • Detail-orientated.
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Accurate bookkeeping & reconciliation – banks / outlets.
