Background: 
To support the growing needs of children and youth in Lebanon, Amel will launch the Makani project, a Multi-Service Community Centre (MSCC) Approach, through 19 community centers and 1 informal settlement. The project will provide comprehensive package of integrated services targeting marginalized and vulnerable children and youth aged 0-18 years and their caregivers in the Governorates of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. The MSCCs are safe spaces that provide vulnerable children and their caregivers with a range of programs, including Education, Child Protection, Early Childhood Development (ECD), Life Skills and youth engagement support through a community-based approach, to reach both Syrian and Lebanese vulnerable children in both host communities, collective, and Informal Settlements.
In local context, the Center Manager is responsible for managing center operations, and provides leadership in strategic and operational planning. The Center’s Manager will work under the supervision of the field coordinator and project coordinator.
Main Duties & Responsibilities: 
Responsibility #1: Staff management
 Manages and supervises her/his team including setting work schedules and organizing staff deployments and leave according to program and project activities and plans.
 Ensures that work procedures and relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) are well understood and accurately implemented.
 Monitors the work of the team through regular follow up, and ensures the team produces timely reports, and key project documentation.
 Ensures project components are recorded by the team e.g. beneficiaries recorded on database.

 Supports her/his team members in their everyday work working through problems, advising and coaching. Supports team members resolve problems and advises on achieving effective project results.
 Ensures that the team receive the required technical and logistical support.
 Conducts annual performance appraisals as per the organization’s policies and procedures.
 Provide training, guidance, and support to the staff members to effectively perform their duties and promote a strong team spirit.
 Carry out spot checks on lists to ensure procedures followed properly.
 Report wrong-doings and incidents.
Responsibility #2: Project Management and Implementation
 Engage in the process of reviewing all projects being implemented in the center or designated geographical area.
 Ensures that project components are implemented as outlined in the project agreement, and aligned with relevant work plans.
 Provides regular reports in line with the project agreement and work plan to the area manager when needed.
 Supervises the implementation of project activities assigned to the area center.
 Supervise and control the accounting and administrative work.
 Reports on challenges or problems that have impact on activity implementation.
 Contributes to needs assessment and monitoring of the beneficiary groups and of
partners.
 Analyzes and evaluates beneficiaries social, economic and psychological situation and provides recommendations on services to be provided by different programs.
 Analyze feedback from beneficiaries (questions and inquiries) and report back regularly.
 Submit reports on a weekly basis on the development and implementation of the activities.
 Follows up with the field coordinator on referrals of beneficiaries to various services, and reports on critical cases.
 Ensures that all operational work meets standards of safety and security.
 Ensures that all operations in the center are aligned with designated work plans and agreements.
 Creates innovative and effective solutions to problems related to organizing work flow inside the center.
 Provide and/or create tools and templates that aid the center’s team in the implementation of the activities.
Responsibility #3: Liaison and Coordination
 Maintains contact with project implementation partners to ensure effective performance of project partners in project implementation;
 Liaises with other interested parties and partners to ensure coordination, promote the project’s work and ensure coherence of the project with other similar activities; helps facilitate and participate in project visits especially by donors.
 Identify and propose partnership opportunities and innovative ideas to respond to community’s need.
 Ensures communication and joint working groups with other projects and teams (e.g. to refer beneficiaries or to ensure other colleagues are informed about project progress).
 Coordination at internal level among the programs.

 Acts as the focal point for all admin and logistical matters.
 Liaison with support staff at the main office to ensure that all operational requirements and donors’ compliance are considered.
The Center Manager may support in additional tasks and carry other responsibilities which are not mentioned above, depending on the needs of the Makani project.
Qualifications, Skills and Requiements:
 University degree in the relevant subject area (Social work, education, management administration or a relevant field);
 A minimum of 3-years working experience in the community work;
 Good knowledge of core principles of Children Rights and Do No Harm in Emergencies minimum standards;
 Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and staff members;
 Fluent in English and Arabic (oral and written);
 Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point;
 Strong networking and coordination skills;
 Strong multitasking and organizational skills;
 Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
