1. RESPONSISBILITIES OF THE PSYCHOLOGIST:

Documentation and Case Management:

  • Accurately and timely document services provided to beneficiaries, ensuring all interventions are recorded, and case files are regularly updated to reflect progress and changing needs.
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality for all cases, adhering to ethical guidelines and organizational policies to protect sensitive information.

Provision of Psychological Support and Follow up: 

  • Provide ongoing psychological support tailored to the unique needs of each case, with regular follow-ups to assess progress and adjust support plans as necessary.
  • Utilize effective methodological tools for psychological assessments to accurately identify beneficiary needs.

Case Reporting and Referrals:

  • Report cases requiring specific actions or responses to ensure timely and appropriate care is provided.
  • Manage a seamless case referral process, including identification and execution of proper referral pathways to specialized services when necessary.

Implementation of Psychosocial Support Activities:

  • Assist in organizing and facilitating relevant activities to support the psychological well-being of beneficiaries.
  • Work closely with facilitators to ensure activities are accessible and beneficial.
  • Implement PSS activities in cooperation with the case managers
  • Support in identifying the most vulnerable and at risk in order to be provided with Cash for Protection  

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with other service providers to ensure comprehensive care for beneficiaries, including relevant external referrals and collaborative efforts to address complex needs.

Reporting and Program Development:

  • Prepare and submit detailed monthly reports on program activities, case progress, and outcomes to inform program development and strategic response.

Performing Other Related Duties if Assigned:

  • Perform other related/relevant duties in case assigned by the project coordinator

Adherence to Policies and Conduct:

  • Show complete commitment to Nabaa’s code of conduct and protection policies, including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), anti-harassment, and safeguarding principles.

 

2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology or other related field

B. EXPERIENCE 

  • 3-5 years of experience in the humanitarian work and Mental Health

C. COMPETENCES / PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES (as needed for performing selected tasks)

  • Master’s degree in psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in providing psychological support, preferably within a humanitarian or community service context.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Strong assessment and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to ethical guidelines and organizational policies.

D. TECHNICAL SKILLS (as needed for performing selected tasks)

  • Computer literacy in outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet
  • Effective report writing
  • Understanding of a community-led process 
  • Understanding of the concept of livelihood project
  • Understanding of child rights and child protection
