Description:

Syndicates & trade unions, mostly political & sectarian unions, have been inhospitable to women’s leadership. While they depend heavily on women as voters, election canvassers and event organizers, few women have so far reached decision-making positions. Women’s equality is generally viewed as secondary to the party’s political and sectarian priorities. To this end, the project aims to achieve transformative change within the structures of targeted unions and syndicates by supporting them to enhance women’s role and access to decision making space, both in terms of enhancing the number of women in leadership positions, by enabling women to enhance their leadership skills and agency to push for policies and incentives to increase women’s representation in decision making within their organization and to promote measures to increase the organization’s commitment to implement policies that are fostering gender equality and women’s rights.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Developing M&E Framework; developing a comprehensive M&E framework tailored to the specific project's goals, objectives, and activities. This includes defining key performance indicators (KPIs), setting targets, and designing data collection methods and tools.

Baseline Assessment; Conducting a baseline assessment to establish the project's starting point and provide a benchmark for measuring progress over time. This involves gathering data on relevant indicators before project implementation begins.

Designing Data Collection Tools; Developing data collection tools such as surveys, questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussion guides to collect quantitative and qualitative data on project outputs, outcomes, and impacts.

Training and Capacity Building; Providing training and capacity building to project staff and partners on M&E concepts, methods, and tools. This ensures that stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities in data collection, reporting, and analysis.

Monitoring Implementation; Monitoring project activities and outputs in real-time to ensure they are being implemented as planned. This involves regular site visits, meetings with project staff, and review of project documentation to track progress against targets.

Data Collection and Analysis; Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data collected through various methods to assess progress towards project objectives and outcomes. This may involve quantitative analysis using statistical software and qualitative analysis of narrative data.

Reporting; Compiling and preparing regular progress reports on project performance for stakeholders, donors, and other relevant parties. Reports typically include summaries of achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.

Mid-Term and Endline Evaluations; Conducting mid-term and endline evaluations to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, and sustainability of the project. These evaluations involve collecting data from project beneficiaries, partners, and other stakeholders to determine the project's impact and identify areas for adjustment or improvement.

Learning and Knowledge Sharing; Facilitating learning and knowledge sharing among project stakeholders by disseminating M&E findings, lessons learned, and best practices through workshops, presentations, and publications.
