INTRODUCTION

The Women’s Programs Association (WPA) is a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO), legally registered with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities since 2008. Its mission is to provide support to Palestinian refugee women and youth and other vulnerable groups in Lebanon to develop their capacities, realize their rights, and fulfill their needs. This is achieved through Protection, Education, Livelihood, and Humanitarian Assistance programs implemented in eight Palestinian refugee camps and surroundings throughout Lebanon.

The Women's Programs Association is currently in the process of recruiting a part-time Communication Officer. This position will be based at the Head Office in Beirut. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the communication strategy, and ensuring high visibility for WPA and its donors by effectively showcasing the impact of WPA's programs and initiatives in the camps. S/He will be required to visit frequently the Palestinian refugee camps located across Lebanon.

Job Purpose

To raise awareness and promote the work of WPA through various communication channels.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Implement context-driven communication strategy that supports organizational strategy execution.
  • Oversee all internal and external communications, and ensuring its messages are  consistent and engaging.
  • Develop and disseminate communication materials, and manage social media platforms, and coordinate media outreach efforts.
  • Ensure visibility to donors by producing periodic reports, newsletters, digital communication and social media.
  • Create communication plans for the organization with assigned centers’ focal points, as relevant.
  • Regularly visit the centers to gather firsthand information, capture stories, conduct interviews, and collect relevant data.
  • Work closely with WPA teams at the Head Office and in the centers to implement communication plans.
  • Manage digital marketing activities and associated budget to maximize performance in coordination with the web developer.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, International Relations, or Marketing.
  • 3 - 5 years’ proven relevant experience.
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel, AI, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva)
  • Experience in Creating Promotional Campaigns and usage of Business Suite Manager
  • Experience in Managing Social Media Platforms such as Facebook, Linked-in, X, Instagram and YouTube channel.
  • Experience in Website editing and data upload.
