Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lesson plans daily.
  • Offer homeroom retention support to children at risk of public school dropout in 4 main subjects: Math, English, Arabic, and Sciences.
  • Tutoring assigned students in academic subjects and study skills, in study groups.
  • Creating, researching, and obtaining curriculum and tutorial tools that suit the needs of students
  • Maintaining records on each student who is being tutored in close collaboration with the education coordinator
  • Writing and submitting evaluations (placement tests) and other reports as requested, following up with each student’s progress
  • Helping students develop self-confidence in performing academic work
  • Follow up on children's attendance by conducting phone calls, and household visits if needed.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings and workshops.
  • Report all issues faced in the center.

Competencies and Skills:

 

  • Bi-lingual fluency in Arabic and English is a must.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with a preference in non-formal education.
  • Good standing knowledge of the Lebanese Public School system and curriculums.
  • Previous NGO teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, commitment, integrity, strength of character and perseverance.
  • Inter-culturally aware with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Inspire trust and confidence in students and colleagues.
  • Show a strong work ethic.
  • Articulate communicator.
  • Patient, tactful and sense of humour to work with young students.
  • Able to work as part of a team while using initiative within work requirements.
  • Committed to ensuring high standards of teaching.
  • Respect and apply Borderless' child safeguarding policy.
